Before Too Long

When I think about it
How we’ve been all invited
Here to live on this planet
Before Too Long we’ll be moving on
Everything that’s here will be gone
Our host has been most gracious
Give respect and embrace
The love and affection reciprocate
With the same action

Gratitude comes with awareness
The joy now is to declare this
Nobody owns anything
No one is queen or king

When you don’t know what day it is
It’s okay ‘cause we’re timeless
We really don’t need any watches

When we share the one thing
This love will bring everything
Our spirit is then nourished

*Before Too Long
We find what it is to co-exist
Connected on an equal basis

**Before Too Long we’ll be movin’ on
Everything that’s here will be gone

Our spirit needs to create
More goodness to alleviate
The darkness of tragedy
No time to be unhappy

With the freedom to express everything we want
And not repress
Eventually when it’s time to leave
Give it away as pristine

Celebrating our welcome cradling the outcome
Knowing the gift it is
When we share the one thing
This love will bring everything
Our spirit is then nourished

It Just Happens to Be

I’m here in the peaceful proximity
As the ode of the hymn
Flows and fills me

The verity that knows
Every thought and action
Is here with the nearness
Of our own creation

Treading tumultuous times
That brim the mind
Hardly leaves space to breathe
For a trace of tranquility

But there’s still a glitch in the system

It Just Happens To Be…Momentarily
It Just Happens To Be…Ordinarily
It Just Happens To Be…Arbitrarily
It Just Happens to Be….Invariably

In this land of distraction
Easily things can go astray
Where fear is more revered
Than the actual hurt
Of what we don’t want to hear
The quest for acceptance
Has no moral compass
At odds with all the loose ends
Of who knew what and when

So many nobodies of nobility
With no ability to lead
Alone with the shame of our own silence
Of what now needs to take heed

But there’s still a glitch in the system

It Just Happens To Be..Momentarily
It Just Happens To Be..Ordinarily
It Just Happens To Be..Arbitrarily
It Just Happens To Be..Invariably

It Just Happens To Be..
We’re sleepwalking in soliloquy
It Just Happens To Be..
Leading me to believe

It Just Happens To Be..Momentarily
It Just Happens To Be..Ordinarily
It Just Happens To Be..Arbitrarily
It Just Happens To Be..Invariably

Is There Any Wonder?

It was a good thing not knowing
What to expect when getting into it
Because if I did
My up-front commitment
May have been different

But then I would have missed out
The reaching for reasons
A need from a thirst in me
Whether I follow or fall all over you
In finding the lining behind said purpose

Riding through what used to be stopping me
While accepting what is now
And prolonging what I like most

If I could only see what you see in me
Then all that is left is
Loving the uncertainty
In what fills the air
IS THERE ANY WONDER to all that is?
Any distance is within our reach
For the uncommon sense
I can make the world a better place
Beginning with myself
In what fills the air
IS THERE ANY WONDER to all that is?

*IS THERE ANY WONDER to all that is?

Letting go of what’s beyond my control
As a neophyte’s world of experience
Within the speed of light
A fundamental constant of nature
Moving in step with the depth of breath
Bringing me here face to face
Holding a blank slate free to create energy

For the way I want things to be
We each share our own responsibility
Discerning reality as opportunity
Together harmoniously

**In what fills the air
IS THERE ANY WONDER to all that is?
Any distance is within our reach
For the uncommon sense
I can make the world a better place
By mending myself
In what fills the air
IS THERE ANY WONDER to all that is?

What Took Me By Storm

The welcoming warmth
Coming towards me
This breath of fresh air
Is with ease to breathe
And less is the weight
Of thoughts overbearing me
Uncompelled as the breeze
Now moves with severity

Past shutter clad windows
In the absence of temperance
The norm knows none other accord
Abandoned from vital interest

My face couldn’t hide
From refraining
The feeling inside of honesty
Betraying me
The depth of our love
Is more than mediocrity
Seeing through what denies
As the distancing

Crashing the comfort zone
Is with terms of our own
Existentialism
Leads freedom born action

What Took Me By Storm
Overwhelming me
Now it’s all or nothing
That won’t let me down easy

What Took Me By Storm

The pulse from the buzz of you
Being here
As genuine affection brings me near
The element of surprise
Mesmerized me
For I had no way of knowing
My own naivety

A non sequitur
Without premise
Promise or future
A picture-perfect reminder
For the tempest to occur

What Took Me By Storm
Overwhelming me
Now it’s all or nothing
That won’t let me down easy

A Song In My Sleep

Waking up in a dream
As real as it is not sleeping

In a friendly setting
Recognizing without even knowing
And the feeling’s familiar
As A Song In My Sleep

I heard music playing
Sounding like the river flowing on
And went to see who’s playing
And found myself singing
A Song In My Sleep

With no questions
How I could see
And be here
Not thinking or analyzing
This Song In My Sleep

I didn’t want to wake up
But I didn’t want to forget

Like so many other dreams
You’re surely forgetting details
Then something said
Get out of bed
And bring back
This Song In My Sleep

‘Cause who knows if the dream
Will be still waiting
Here in the hope
Of my returning

A Song In My Sleep

I remember the place
Where the bridge
Spans the river

As the flowing water moves on
I’m thankful for this song
To treasure
A memory forever

A Song In My Sleep

Now these two worlds
Can always meet
As A Song In My Sleep

Awake in a dream
Is A Song In My Sleep

There Is No Coincidence

There comes a day
When time is synchronized
And the idea of chance
Has become compromised
Towards a fate you believed in
Or conceived to be
And all that is left now
Is new possibility

Of what’s meant to be
You’re free from happenstance
As a providence decree
You’ve been accepting

A remarkable concurrence of events
To a circumstance
Is without apparent causal connection
When we become impartial
To an outcome
The repeating scenarios
Are less that one

And we see No Coincidence
Only similarity in harmony

In our destiny
No linear life
Within our nature

There Is No Coincidence

There comes a day
When time is synchronized
The idea of chance
Has become compromised
Towards a fate you believed in
Or conceived to be
All that is left now
Is new possibility

Of what’s meant to be
Free from happenstance
As a providence decree
You’ve been accepting
Sequential order of everything

There Is No Coincidence

So you know
There Is No Coincidence

What I’ve Come To Know

If I like you
But not what you do
What’s best then to be a friend

*It’s not just now
WHAT I’VE COME TO KNOW
There are things you left well alone
Especially when you’re far from home
In the safety of your comfort zone

**Don’t mess with things
You got no business with
There’s nothing to nail down
What proves to be illusive

It’s not what you want
Pretending to forget
Just move it along
Trying not to get upset
Leaving stones unturned
Is without much detail
Measured as earned
Is to no avail

It’s not just now
WHAT I’VE COME TO KNOW
And it really doesn’t have to show
With what it is I’m wearing
To match where I have to go

Re-enacting something
That never happened
Won’t make it right a second time
To fit any fashion

***A cause for concern
Only gets in the way
Of an idea whose time
Has been long delayed

****Until today, now it’s okay
To let it all go

*****WHAT I’VE COME TO KNOW
Doesn’t really have to show
Doesn’t have to go
With what I’m wearing

WHAT I’VE COME TO KNOW
Filling in the fantasy
Is without omitting (admitting)
Too much detail

Just leave it alone
The stone is still unturned
No love is tethered
Measured or earned

WHAT I’VE COME TO KNOW
It’s not all or nothing
No time for the delay
Of doing nothing

This Abode

Oh I know…
THIS ABODE

Out on an adventure
The day passes
Leaving me here unassuming
Encompassing
Is beauty around me
Larger than life
Of what I perceive

Seeing nature’s network
Of interrelations
Witnessing cooperation
Unknown to human corruption
I lay my head back in awe
In the wide-open meadow
The abounding surrounding
Is for what I’m grateful..

In this wide-open meadow
The only home I know
In this wide-open meadow
The only abode I know

Oh, I know
THIS ABODE
Oh, I know

Energy is alive
With the ambient air
Crystal clear water
Shares awareness
From the mountains
To the lakes
Through cleansing streams
The workings of nature
Transforming

In accordance to connectivity
Is flora and fauna
I lay my head back in awe
Graced in blessings
The only roof around here
Is the celestial body
Engaging my eyes is the night sky
Reflecting rhythmically

In this wide-open meadow
Oh, I know
THIS ABODE

A Good Fixing

It looks like things need
A GOOD FIXING

Speaking too much
Loses touch from the ground up
In spite of what might happen
Is quite the conundrum
Like an idea
Whose time has come
To express
Nothing more
Nothing less
The feeling of having enough
Surviving the storm’s tempest

It looks like things need
A GOOD FIXING
As issues get confused
Without the truth

*When caught up in thought
What some forgot
Is by measure of one’s self
Right or wrong
Comes through the door
That swings in only one way
Ain’t no doubt about it
When you get hit by something
With more at stake
Its vested interest
Now becomes listless
Ready to negate

**Now’s as good a time as any
Nothing’s set in stone over me

***Intrepid is in the face of..
The unknown becomes familiar
As a loving life saver
Welcome to share
Some short-comings
Sentient of all issues
The resolute rescue heeds
To (the) only truth

The rule of thumb
Finds a ride
On the road less traveled
Is now breaking new ground
With the reason for being
And its destination
Is for compromising
Uneven as the road may be
To have never ventured
Leaves no belief

It looks like things need
A GOOD FIXING
As issues get confused
Without the truth

The Unlikely Love

From your lips I drink
The elixir of your being
We share our walk
In thought
Side stepping
Foolish inclination
In silent trepidation

Finally surrendering
To acceptance

When craziness
Comes crashing down
Binging the end of intensity
After it’s all said and done
Your genuine affection
Still means more than any
Impromptu memory

That won’t do to help me
See through the distance
From you

Then what came alive
When all else denied
What died

But now
I’m in the new normal
Feeling it’s so wonderful
If the day draws dormant
To speak
Our thoughts are always
Within arm’s reach

In the free flowing of
THE UNLIKELY LOVE

When you love me like that
Everything is conceivable
When you love me like that
Anything is achievable

When you love me like that
It makes me more accessible
When you love me like that
It makes you even more lovable

This unlikely love
Sustains a trust
Through uncertainty
Knowing well how blind
Naivety can be

This unlikely love
Has no demand
Which makes it hard to be
Who I am around you

From your lips I drink
The elixir of your being
In the free flowing of
Is the releasing from
Holding onto any need
That’s done
Now relinquishing
Allowing it to be
THE UNLIKELY LOVE
