Track 14 -THE PROMISE AISLE
This Promise Aisle
(Story)
“This promise aisle” is music that was composed for a wedding to be held in a huge church. The church has been there for a long time, built with local stone in this Arcadian setting filled with an endless horizon surrounded by formidable mountains with rivers cascading into boundless lakes, bordered by fertile land. Towering trees delicately display nature’s own design.
The wedding celebration is for two people from very different parts of the world and culture, bringing each of their extended families and friends and with the support of the local township, they have this day to make indelible.
The scenario of chance to unfold in the unlikely happenstance of these people even meeting, represents how possibility is always accompanied by the hope that only love can bring.
The music was written with the best of intentions for that day, though the composer was not able to attend. Through fear and other battles of resistance, the musical outcome prevailed and brought with this endeavor a gratitude, which is held with the fulfillment of this work.
The music opens with people having walked into the church through giant carved wooden entry doors, as they hear the music inviting them in and the announcement for the ceremony to begin. After all the guests are seated, the procession music begins and accompanies the members of the wedding party as they are walking in, leading to the altar.
The couple is there waiting in acknowledgment of each other and what is about to occur. The circumstances that brought them to this point in each of their lives, as memories are racing through each of their minds in a moment of reflection, standing together in amazement as they voice their thoughts together aloud within the song, “This Promise Aisle.”
This Promise Aisle
(Song)
We found this promise aisle
And now we can believe we’re here
There’s no doubt of the love before us
That endows the path that we walk in trust
Compassion for each other’s concepts
Of what we believe
Survives the storms of change
Bringing clarity
Flaws that were taught unknowing
Have a place with acceptance
We make from this day forward
Vows in allegiance
We find in this promise aisle
The kind of love we knew is here
Aligned in this promise aisle
Are the stars in the reign of this sphere
As what’s around us is far more than we can ever know
It is with a leap of faith that we can let go
And for all here together we are (as) one
In this celestial gathering who’s time has come
In this promise aisle
